Katherine and Leo Lindeman
Leo and Katherine Lindeman, ages 73 and 74, lived a quiet, private life at the end of a remote, rural road in Anderson, Missouri. Alongside their small white dog, Bitty, the couple relied on rainwater and lived without air conditioning, often keeping their front door open during warmer days.
They were last confirmed seen on September 15, and investigators believe they disappeared the following day. Because of their isolated lifestyle, their absence went unnoticed for over a week until worried family members formally reported them missing on September 24.
When authorities arrived at the home to investigate, they found a puzzling scene. The main front door stood open, with only the screen door closed. The couple’s vehicle remained parked in the driveway, and their cell phones were left resting inside the house. Despite the sudden abandonment of their daily lives, a thorough forensic sweep of the home using Luminol revealed no signs of a struggle, forced entry, or foul play.
With physical searches of the property concluding without results, the investigation has shifted toward digital forensics. Authorities are currently reviewing the couple's computer hardware, financial records, and bank accounts, searching for any digital footprint or recent activity that might explain their disappearance.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Leo and Katherine Lindeman is urged to immediately contact the McDonald County Dispatch Center at 417-223-4318.
