Roberto Franco Jr. was 21 years old when he disappeared from Pasadena, Texas, on July 28, 2017. He was last seen while preparing to travel to Mexico to visit relatives, but he never arrived at his destination. According to investigators, Roberto was last seen in Pasadena in the company of another man, Juan Francisco Hernandez. The two were reportedly traveling to Agualeguas, Nuevo León, Mexico, to visit family members. Roberto had planned the trip as a short visit because he was scheduled to begin a new job just days later.

The two men were confirmed to have crossed the international border at Los Indios, Texas, but investigators found no evidence that they ever reached their intended destination. After they disappeared, Roberto’s mother reportedly received a ransom call demanding money. She sent approximately $5,000 in an effort to secure their release, but the payment did not lead to Roberto or Hernandez being found.

The vehicle associated with their disappearance was a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe with Texas license plate GNY4766, which was driven by Hernandez. Neither Roberto nor Hernandez has been seen or heard from since 2017.

Roberto is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 290 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a distinctive tattoo of his last name, “Franco,” written in large black script on his right forearm.

At the time of his disappearance, Roberto was reportedly wearing an orange Magellan shirt, light beige carpenter shorts, camouflage-print Crocs shoes, and a black cap featuring a black-and-white American flag design.

The circumstances surrounding Roberto’s disappearance remain concerning, and investigators continue to ask anyone with information about his whereabouts, the vehicle, or the events following the border crossing to come forward.
