Leah Rachelle Peebles

Leah Rachelle Peebles, who also went by the nickname "Mia," was 23 years old when she disappeared from Albuquerque, New Mexico, on May 22, 2006. She had recently moved to Albuquerque in hopes of beginning a new chapter in her life and overcoming a struggle with addiction. Within just a few weeks of relocating, she vanished without a trace.

According to investigators, Leah was last known to have dropped off her 2000 silver two-door Volkswagen Beetle at a transmission repair shop located in an area of Albuquerque known for drug activity and prostitution. After leaving the vehicle, she was never seen again. Authorities have been unable to determine whether Leah voluntarily left the area or became the victim of foul play. Since her disappearance, there has been no confirmed contact with law enforcement or any verified sightings of Leah.

Leah is described as a White female with brown hair, although she frequently dyed it black, red, or blonde, and blue eyes with thin eyebrows. She stands approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs between 105 and 135 pounds.

She has several distinctive identifying features, including numerous piercings in her left ear, a double piercing in her right ear, a piercing in her left upper lip, and a tongue piercing. She also has scars on her right nostril, upper right ear, and left eyebrow from previous piercings, as well as possible scars on her feet. Leah has a black-ink scrolled flower tattoo on her upper back and a black-ink Celtic cross tattoo on her lower back.

At the time of her disappearance, her clothing was unknown, though she typically wore T-shirts, jeans, and sandals. She usually carried a purse containing her cellular phone and Texas driver's license, wore glasses or contact lenses, and often wore heavy steel hoop earrings.

Leah's disappearance remains unsolved, and investigators continue to seek information that could explain what happened after she left the transmission shop. Anyone who may have encountered Leah, seen her vehicle, or has knowledge about her disappearance is encouraged to come forward.
