Gwendolyn Susie King
Gwendolyn Susie King, also known as "Sue," was 16 years old when she disappeared from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in September 1982. She was last seen on September 1, 1982, when her sister dropped her off at a Greyhound bus station in Oklahoma City. Gwendolyn was supposed to travel to San Bernardino, California, where she planned to reunite with her mother and attend high school. However, she never arrived at her destination and has not been seen or heard from since.
It remains unknown whether Gwendolyn ever boarded the Greyhound bus departing Oklahoma City. According to the available case information, her family contacted law enforcement in 1982, but authorities declined to accept a missing-person report at that time. Her mother subsequently hired a private investigator in an effort to locate her daughter, but the investigation did not produce answers.
At the time of her disappearance, Gwendolyn was approximately 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed between 100 and 115 pounds. She is described as a White/Caucasian female with long red or auburn hair and brown eyes. The clothing she was wearing when she disappeared is unknown.
Gwendolyn's case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) on April 11, 2022, nearly four decades after she vanished. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unresolved, including whether she left Oklahoma City or what may have happened during her intended journey to California.
Anyone with information about Gwendolyn's disappearance, particularly anyone who may remember seeing her at the Oklahoma City Greyhound station or aboard a bus traveling toward California in September 1982, is encouraged to contact the Oklahoma City Police Department at (405) 297-1129.
