Graham Karlson Lacher
Graham Karlson Lacher was 37 years old when he disappeared on June 6, 2022, in Bangor, Maine. At the time, Graham was receiving inpatient treatment at the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center for schizophrenia and autism. He was participating in a supervised walk with a staff member when he left the hospital grounds alone and disappeared.
Following his departure, Graham was reportedly seen entering a wooded area near the Sylvan Road walking trail, which borders Interstate 95 near Exit 186. This area became a significant point of interest in efforts to determine his whereabouts. Despite the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, Graham has not been located.
Approximately six weeks later, his hat was discovered just inside the woodline off Dartmouth Street, near the area where he was last seen. The discovery provided a physical connection to the vicinity of his disappearance but did not establish where he went afterward. No further confirmed information about his movements has been provided.
Graham is described as a White male standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds at the time he went missing. He has brown hair, blue eyes, and wears black-framed eyeglasses. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket and gray Carhartt pants. His hat, which he had been wearing when he disappeared, was subsequently recovered.
Graham is multilingual and previously studied philosophy. According to information about his background, his medical conditions affected his ability to maintain employment and independently manage his finances. He had previously left a group home without authorization and traveled approximately 17 miles on foot before being found. This history demonstrated his ability to travel considerable distances independently, although it does not establish how far he may have traveled following his disappearance in June 2022.
Because of Graham's schizophrenia and autism, he may be reluctant to communicate with unfamiliar individuals or may avoid contact altogether. His case is classified as endangered missing due to concerns about his safety and ability to access appropriate care.
The Bangor Police Department is responsible for investigating Graham's disappearance. Anyone who believes they have seen him is advised not to confront, approach, or pursue him. Instead, witnesses are encouraged to document the sighting with a photograph if it can be done safely and without disturbing him, and immediately notify law enforcement.
