Gordon John Young
Gordon John Young was 18 years old when he disappeared on October 26, 1994, while aboard the fishing vessel Fierce Competitor. The vessel was traveling from Warrenton, Oregon, to King Cove, Alaska, when Gordon and four other individuals went missing. His disappearance is officially associated with Sitka, Alaska, in Sitka Borough.
The four other missing individuals were Keithly Young, Larry Jones, Vicki Rowe-Simonsen, and Robert Simonsen. All five were aboard the Fierce Competitor during its voyage toward Alaska.
Gordon was described as a White male standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds. He had blond or strawberry-blond hair and blue eyes. Two distinctive tattoos may assist with identification: a "Grateful Dead" tattoo on his right arm and the words "Bad Boy" on his left shoulder.
