Alphonse "Big June" Hogan Jr.

8/20/26 - There is an update to the disappearance of Alphonse "Big June" Hogan Jr.'s disappearance.

Today NOPD arrested Frederick Johnson in its investigation of a homicide. Alphonse Hogan Jr. has not been located.

Statement from NOPD: On August 3, NOPD First District officers took a report of a missing adult male identified as Alphonse Hogan Jr. who was last seen at his residence in the 2000 block of Lapeyrouse Street. During the course of the missing person investigation, First District detectives obtained information suggesting that the disappearance possibly involved foul play. NOPD Homicide Section detectives then assumed control of the investigation, with assistance from the FBI.

Following the execution of multiple search warrants and the analysis of a significant amount of evidence in the investigation, detectives determined that Hogan was the victim of a homicide and reclassified this incident as such, in consultation with the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office and the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office. 

Earlier today, Johnson was located in Gonzales, La., and arrested on the murder charge with assistance from Louisiana State Police, the FBI and the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. Johnson is currently awaiting extradition to Orleans Parish to face the murder charge.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Investigation into this incident is ongoing, as Hogan’s remains have yet to be located. Anyone with additional information that can assist in this investigation is urged to contact NOPD detectives at 504-658-5300.

08/15/26 - Alphonse "Big June" Hogan Jr. , 69 years old, went missing on or around August 3, 2026, after his fiancée, Yolanda Miller, grew worried when she could not reach him from her workplace. Knowing that Hogan manages diabetes, Miller feared he was experiencing a sudden medical emergency and rushed back to their shared duplex near Lapeyrouse Street and North Johnson Street to check on him. Upon arriving, she discovered his vehicles were still parked on the property, but Hogan himself was completely gone.

CCTV security footage from the property shows him entering a nearby apartment, however it does not show him exiting. This footage has led to additional questions and concern. 

Hogan has been missing for weeks and requires vital medication.
