Walter Lee Brown was 53 years old when he disappeared from Marrero, Louisiana, on June 10, 1993. A military veteran and radio dispatcher for a New Orleans trucking company, Brown left his home on Avenue A that morning, telling his family he planned to drive to Holt, Florida, approximately 250 miles away, to meet with a man. He was expected to return home after the trip, but he was never seen or heard from again.

The following day, June 11, 1993, Brown's Ford LTD was found abandoned at a rest area along Interstate 10 in Holt, Florida. The vehicle was in good working condition, and the keys were still in the ignition. Investigators have never been able to determine whether Brown personally drove the car to the rest stop or what happened to him after it arrived there.

Brown had previously served as a confidential informant for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). 

Brown's wife reported that it would have been completely out of character for him to leave voluntarily without contacting his family. 

Walter Brown is described as a White male with white hair and blue eyes. He stood 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed approximately 285 pounds at the time he disappeared. He had a full beard and mustache, as well as a scar on his forehead and another scar on his right hand. He was last seen wearing a light blue short-sleeved pullover shirt, dark gray or black slacks, brown work boots, and possibly an Acme Truck Lines baseball cap.

More than three decades later, Walter Brown has never been found, and his disappearance remains unsolved. Investigators continue to classify his case as an endangered missing person.
