Rachel Louise Cooke disappeared while out for a morning run near her family's home in Georgetown, Texas, on January 10, 2002. At the time, she was 19 years old and was home from college during winter break.

Rachel left her family's residence in the 500 block of County Road 177 at approximately 7:30 a.m. She regularly ran a route that took her through the rural neighborhood and was expected to return within about an hour. When she did not come home, her family became concerned and began searching for her. They later contacted law enforcement after she failed to return.

During the initial search, investigators located several personal items believed to belong to Rachel along the route she normally ran. Her portable CD player and headphones were found, along with other small personal belongings. There were no signs indicating where she had gone after that point.

Authorities believe Rachel was likely abducted while she was running. Although several persons of interest have been investigated over the years, no one has ever been charged in connection with her disappearance.

One of the men who drew investigators' attention was a convicted serial offender who was known to have committed violent crimes against women in Texas. Law enforcement examined whether he could be connected to Rachel's disappearance but announced they did not have enough evidence to link him to the case.

Investigators have also looked into possible connections between Rachel's disappearance and other unsolved cases involving young women in Central Texas. Despite those efforts, no definitive link has ever been established.

Rachel's family has continued to work with law enforcement and has kept her case in the public eye for more than two decades. Multiple searches have been conducted, tips have been investigated, and advances in forensic technology have been used to re-examine evidence, but Rachel has never been found.
