Krystle M. Journee

Krystle was 39 years old when she disappeared from New Orleans on December 22, 2021. She was a mother of three and lived in the 1600 block of Mandeville Street in the St. Roch area.

That evening, at around 7:00 p.m., Krystle left her home saying she was going to a concert. Rapper Fredo Bang was performing at the Saenger Theatre, and Krystle reportedly planned to attend with her ex-boyfriend, Roosevelt Marshall.

Krystle was seen getting into a black 2009 Toyota Avalon with Louisiana license plate 102EQM. Police believed the car belonged to Marshall. She left as a passenger in that vehicle and never returned home. It has never been publicly confirmed that Krystle actually made it to the concert.

At first, her family tried to reach her. Krystle may occasionally have been away for a few days, but not answering calls or messages was unusual. Christmas came and Krystle still had not returned. Her family reported her missing on December 26.

As police began looking into Krystle's disappearance, attention turned to Roosevelt Marshall because he was believed to be the last person known to have seen her. NOPD publicly called Marshall a person of interest and said he was wanted for questioning only. He was not charged with anything connected to Krystle's disappearance.

There was, however, a documented history between Krystle and Marshall.

The two had been involved on and off for several years. More than a year before Krystle disappeared, Marshall had faced charges involving alleged violence against her. According to case summaries based on police records and news reporting, one 2020 incident involved Marshall allegedly taking keys and driving away while Krystle held onto the steering wheel. In another incident, Krystle accused him of repeatedly hitting her, leaving her face badly bruised and ripping an earring from her ear.

Krystle told police there had been a long history of verbal and physical abuse and that Marshall had threatened to kill her.

By the time Krystle disappeared, her family did not believe the two were officially back together.

After Krystle vanished, Marshall also became difficult to locate. Four months later, Krystle's family hired a private investigator, and Marshall was eventually located in Cobb County, Georgia. He was questioned by authorities in Georgia concerning Krystle's disappearance and later extradited to Louisiana on unrelated outstanding charges. Those earlier charges were later dropped. Marshall has never been charged in Krystle's disappearance.

There have been no publicly confirmed sightings of her since the night she left Mandeville Street. Police have not publicly announced that they found evidence showing she arrived at the Saenger Theatre. No arrest has been made in connection with her disappearance.

Krystle's family has said they do not believe she would simply walk away from her children. Her daughter, Dominiece Honore, described her mother as loving, caring, goofy and someone who loved to have fun. Her older sister described Krystle as a free spirit.

Krystle has been missing since December 22, 2021. Her family is still looking for answers, and her case remains unsolved.

Krystle was last seen wearing a beige or cream-colored sweater dress, a hat and black boots. She is approximately 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 6 inches tall and has black hair and brown eyes. She has several tattoos, including a peacock on her right leg, an elephant on her thigh and a Betty Boop tattoo on her foot.
